What this is

Claim a Day is a novelty entertainment website. For a one-time fee, you can “claim” a day on the calendar and personalize it with a display name, a short message, a link, and an avatar. That’s it — there’s no product, service, or physical thing being sold, and claiming a day confers no legal right, title, or ownership over any actual date, trademark, or real-world event. It’s for fun.

Claims are not permanent

This is the core mechanic of the site, so we want to state it plainly: owning a day is never permanent. Any day, including yours, can be “stolen” at any time by another user who pays more than the current price. If that happens, you lose your claim to that day immediately, and the new claimant’s name, message, link, and avatar replace yours on the page. You can try to buy it back, but at whatever the new price is — we don’t hold days for you or offer any protection window.

Payments and refunds

All payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.

All sales are final. We do not offer refunds for any reason, including if another user subsequently steals the day you paid for.

You’re paying for the act of claiming or stealing a day at that moment, not for a guarantee that you’ll keep it.

Acceptable use

You agree not to submit, as your display name, message, link, avatar, or otherwise, any content that is:

• illegal, or that promotes illegal activity;
• abusive, harassing, hateful, or threatening;
• misleading, impersonating another person or brand, or spammy;
• linking to malware, phishing pages, scams, or other malicious destinations; or
• sexually explicit, or otherwise inappropriate for a general audience.

You’re responsible for the content and links you attach to a day.

Content removal and claim revocation

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion and without notice, to remove or edit any content (name, message, link, or avatar) and to revoke or reset any claim that violates these terms or that we otherwise judge to be abusive, illegal, or harmful to the site or its visitors. Removal or revocation does not entitle you to a refund. You can report content to hello@claima.day.

“As is,” no warranty

Claim a Day is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don’t guarantee the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at any given time.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Claim a Day and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, revenue, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the site. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or the site is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You agree that any dispute arising from these terms or the site will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Calgary, Alberta.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll update the “last updated” date above. Continuing to use the site after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
